Our Vision
Influencing lives for Christ by reaching out to our community and across the world. ...We believe that God has called us to be a body that models His unconditional love and His abundant grace and mercy. ...because of this, we believe God is calling us to reach out in love and service to those around us: ...we can only accomplish this by walking in His Spirit; following the instructions of His Word; and investing our abundant resources - the time, talents, spiritual gifts, and finances, that He has entrusted to us.
Our Mission:
Cultivating Christ-followers in our community and across the world. We will accomplish our mission through Planting the word of salvation by word and deed, Nurturing believers in their walk with Jesus, Training believers for works of service, and Harvesting opportunities for fruitful ministry.
Our Philosophy of Ministry:
- A commitment to Biblical Authority. We believe God's Word is the foundation for our lives and that it is both relevant to our culture and practical in its application to our lives.
- A commitment to prayer. We believe prayer is an essential part of every believer's journey. Because of this, we will encourage everyone at CBC to make prayer a vital part of their daily walk with Jesus. We will also make sure that our ministries here at CBC are characterized by a reliance on prayer in their conception, planning and execution.
- A commitment to grace/mercy. We believe healthy relationships are committed to showing both grace and mercy as a reflection of what God has extended to each of us.
- A commitment to servant ministry. We believe all believers at CBC are to be servants of the Gospel and so we will strive to involve as many people as possible in the ministry here at CBC.
- A commitment to outreach and evangelism. We believe God desires for us to reach as many people as possible with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Because of this, we are committed to encouraging everyone to participate in this mission endeavor and to promote some to take this message to places outside of our local community.
- A commitment to fellowship. We believe that our strength as a community comes from the relationships we seek to develop with one another, which should encourage everyone into an active, personal, committed, transforming relationship with Christ.
- A commitment to an inviting atmosphere. We believe that God's invitation to us expressed in Jesus should motivate us to not only make our church a welcoming and inviting place but also to cause us to model this attitude wherever it is we find ourselves.
- A commitment to worship. We believe that our relationship with God is sustained through our worship of Him. Because of this we will seek to encourage worship in all of its forms in the activities of the church.
- A commitment to discipleship. We believe that discipleship is the key to growth in our journey with Christ. This means that we are committed to being a people who value learning and following, changing and growing, serving and giving.
- A commitment to servant leadership. We believe that putting others before ourselves is an essential characteristic of a Godly leader. Because of this, all leaders from CBC will follow this example laid out by Christ whether they are serving at a CBC ministry or another ministry outside of our own program.
